*INCREASE THE TRANSPORT FARES___GRTCC TO GOVERNMENT.*
The members in Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council (GRTCC) in the Ashanti Region are calling on the government to adjust transport fares upwards.
According to them, the ban on Churches, mosques and others has been lifted on eased restrictions but there is no conditions for transport operators.
They added that, the price of the spare parts, fuel and others keeps still increasing and commercial drivers have still reduced the number of passengers they take in order to adherence to social distancing protocols amidst the Covid 19 pandemic outbreak in Ghana.
While some have been seen to be in compliance, others have refused to pay heed, arguing that practicing social distancing protocols amidst, their vehicles will land them in debt.
Again, the association also added that, the observation of the social distancing protocol in their vehicles is having a huge toll on their earnings.
They therefore urging the government and the ministry of transport to do something for the transport operators.
